“You can have everything in life you want, if you will just help other people get what they want.” This was my favorite quote from Zig Ziglar. It was true when he said it and it is true now. I don’t live in a cloistered world, where all is great and beautiful, but I believe in the concept of win-win, not winner take all. I learned through athletics that if you work together for a common goal, everyone can achieve what they want. Teamwork is a great model for most things in life, requiring more than one person.
The Law of Attraction
“Whatsoever a man soweth that shall he also reap.” Or in the present vernacular, what goes around, comes around. This truism is as eternal as the Law of Gravity. Do everything in your power to follow The Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you, and most things in life will take care of themselves. No, I am not preaching religion to you, these principles have appeared in writing since time immortal.
This might require an attitude adjustment for many of us. It can be done, it is worth it. Try not to view it as simply a “what’s in for me” moment. Reach that hand out, we are all struggling in this world, some more than others. You will need cooperation, help, and attention from other people to succeed. The surest way to get this is to go the extra mile and offer a little help, now and again.
The Shiny Object Syndrome
I know that I am guilty of this problem. It is the search for a fast, east path to riches. I have spent many a dollar on the internet, responding to lure of internet riches to be had. It doesn’t work. Usually, they are some form of black hat tricks, that will get you into trouble with google, amazon, or some other large internet entity.
Roll your sleeves up, due your homework, and put the work in. In the long run, this effort will reward you with income and a sense of self-worth, which may be even more important than the few dollars that you earn.
I hope that this gives you some food for thought about how to work toward your goals in life. I would appreciate any comments that you might have and good luck in your journey.
