I feel that so many of us (yes, I am including myself) seek to better ourselves, whether it be financially, improved health, good relationships, or just plain living at peace with ourselves.
I certainly don’t profess to know the answers to all the above issues, but I feel in my 72 years of living to have gained a small measure of insight to guiding you in the directions you are seeking.
First, and foremost, determine what it is you want. Lewis Carroll said it bests: “If you don’t know where you are going any road will get you there.” This concept has been hi lighted in writings thru out the years, in one form or another. Napoleon Hill, Anthony Robbins, Jim Rohn, Zig Ziglar, are just a few that stress know what you want and why.
Tackle one issue at a time, if that is possible. Map out what you desire, set some realistic goals, and start working on your path. Small baby steps, create some success, and use that success to fuel your motivation and desire to succeed.
Secondly, clearly deliniate why you want this particular goal. It is your why that will keep you working onward. Bernadette Jiwa succintly sums it up in her quote: “Once you know where you want to go, and why, you can proudly clear the path that is right for you.” No one, but you, will ever give you permission to seek your dreams.
Thirdly, don’t give up at the first resistance that you encounter. As Jim Rohn said: “Don’t wish that it were easier, wish that you were better.” You will encounter naysayers, difficulties, and setbacks, whatever your goals and desires may be. If you don’t, maybe you haven’t stetched high enough in your dreams.
Go For It! Reach as high as you feel is good, and then reach a little higher. You are capable of far more than you will ever realize and you will never know until you push yourself. It it is at all possible, buddy up with an accountability partner, this will help the both of you succeed, but you can do this on you own.
